Why does America defense pay civilian contractors 6 figures?
I hear from some military friends that there are a lot of sweet paying jobs as a civilian contractor working for uncle sam. In a lot of cases these guys get to go to other countries and live basically a vacation while getting paid 6 figures. Why does America waist its' money like this?
One reason is because government employment is based on a point system and it takes months to hire someone and sort through all the paper work and bureaucracy. where as you can get a qualified contractor in a few days.
Another reason is a lot of these aren't sweet jobs apart from the money, someone who gets one of those jobs who is qualified can make good money here and not spend 6 months in a tent in the desert of Afghanistan or in the cold of Antartica and isn't going to want to go unless its worthwhile.
Im sure there are better more efficient ways, but that's just the way it currently is
