Varied Uses Of Sport Watches
Men love the sport watch because of its many uses. It also has many variations. It can be made of leather, resin and others. Or, it can look like a wristwatch or a digital watch.
A leather watch is one of the most durable gadgets that a man can purchase. You can use the watch in various occasions. It can also provide an aura of sexiness and power to the one who wears it.
A digital sport watch makes another good timekeeper. The digital watch is more fit for active lifestyles. Digital watches have large faces with the numbers written clearly on them. You do not need to look at the watch hands because it tells time by reflecting the numbers on the face.
The graphic lcd module in digital watches allow it to show the numbers on the screen. The graphic liquid crystal display modules have diamond ranges. These diamond ranges enable designers to create alpha numeric characters and software induced graphics. LCD can also offer back lighting features. It can have back light color options that provide the watch various colors when turned on.
Most sport watches have countdown timer and serves as a stopwatch. Unlike wrist watches, it often requires a standard quartz battery that can last for years. But both watches are designed to easily withstand wear and tear.
Some watches have dual time features. For travelers, this is a great help so they can tell the time if they are in another country. Other watches are water resistant that enables them to withstand underwater pressures normally within meters from the surface.
Diver watches contain functionality that allow them to resist water pressures hundreds of meters below the surface. Runners, unlike divers, may require a watch that contain other capabilities such as a heart rate monitor system. This aspect is important for runners as it determines their heart beat every second. A global positioning system sensor will help the athlete find his location easily and know how many meters left for the finish line. Triathlon athletes would most likely love this feature more than anything else.
The different functions of a sports watch are useful for athletes who strive to improve in their chosen sport. It does not matter what sport you love, there is a sport watch that can meet your specifications and help in your trainings.

We talk to the Olympian
It is a blustery December morning as we step into the private gym tucked away
in a corner of north London. We've been invited along by Motorola to see their
new Motorola ACTV, or MotoACTV, in the hands of its new ambassador, Iwan
Thomas.
And those hands are surprisingly large, with a grip that reminds us of those
gold and silver medal-winning performances through the 90s. Behind that
serious handshake, Iwan Thomas is obviously still in great shape, but his easy
going and friendly personality quickly makes Pocket-lint feel right at home.
Thomas is wearing Motorola's new sports device, the Motorola ACTV and what it
is that we've really come to see. It's a new area for Motorola, taking on the
likes of Nike+ amongst others, but offering a device that isn't just about
tracking your distance or your speed.
Of course it makes us wonder exactly what a former professional athlete might
get from such a gadget. Surely, Iwan Thomas has been there and done it all
before? But, as he eyes his next challenge for Sport Relief, a race around the
country called First Nation Home, we presume that ...
